LO1: Understanding existing graphic design work for media products - NOTES

1-     Purpose
  
Promote? Educate? Entertain? Sell Products?

2-     Format

What type of product is In the campaign? E.g Billboard, Wristband. Two benefits of having a
Package that includes different formats that would be available / seen in different places.

3-     Content

This is where you pick out the denoted elements. Photographs, Typography, Colours, 
Logos, Bleed (space between images), Kerning (space between letters), 
Leading (space between lines), White space, Anchorage (text over images). At least 3 or 4

4-     Style

Where you explain/analyse the connotations of the content linked to the target audience
And/or genre of the product/event.

5-     Layout

Where the features are places/positioned. 'Top', 'Middle', 'Bottom'. White Space, Borders, Positioning of images and test, background, foreground, rule of thirds. Social media, ticket information, predominantly at the bottom, synergy.

6-     Target audience

Gender, Age, Spending Power. Design, themes, types of acts. 


7-     Regulatory bodies

ASA : Advertising Standards Authority -> Regulate adverts on a range of products. 
1. No harmful, offensive or misleading information.
- Censored by ASA, will be seen by all members of the public, not just the target audience. 
2. Themes could have been glorified based on genre.
3. What would have to be copyrighted based on the content. 
Bands would get Royalties
