Section 1: Compliance
To ensure my designed content follows the majority of CAP codes, section 01: compliance must be followed in order to adhere to any regulations set by any other codes. Section 1.1 states 'Marketing communications should be legal, decent, honest and truthful.' For this reason my products must follow the law, and be truthful to the event, so therefore must not advertise anything falsely (i.e an artist that will not be at the event).
Section 3: Misleading Advertising
The purpose for my designed products is to promote my event. For this reason I must keep my images and artist names true to prevent any misleading information from occurring. Section 3.3 states 'Marketing communications must not mislead the consumer by omitting material information'. This suggests no important information should be missed out or 'omitted' from the important documents such as ticket or poster.
Section 4: Harm and Offence.
My products must promote the event 'La5er Fest'. Items like the poster will include Artists and Groups which may be offensive names. To prevent against breaching section 4 of the CAP codes ('Particular care must be taken to avoid causing offence on the grounds of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age'), it is important to check that artist names promoted on the poster or other promotional merchandise to ensure there is no content that could be seen as offensive or harmful to a potentially full spectrum of age ranges.
